Are you familiar with CAQH and the CAQH credentialing process? Many of us are hearing more and more about it lately. Insurance companies are asking if you are credentialed through CAQH. What is it and why would you use it?
CAQH is a non profit organization which has come up with a universal credentialing system for providers of medical services. Once you complete a CAQH application, insurance companies can access that information online.
The largest benefit of this is that it will reduce the number of applications you must complete to become participating with insurance companies. The CAQH application is quite involved to complete, but well worth the problems. Here's more information about CAQH on our website.

Thank you for this helpful information.
Parlez-vous Francais? Moi, oui.
filling out a CAQH application is not hard at all and if you have all the information requested you can finish the questions portion of the application online in 2 hours or less. It only takes that long because its the first time you are filling it out. Make sure you fax in current information like your liability insurance at least 30 days from the expiration date and licenses and stuff. Fill out the applicaiton online rather than filing out a paper applicaiton and faxing it in. Just remember that you as a provider are responsible for the upkeep of your application and be sure you obtain your username and password from who ever is updating your application as you will need it if they get fired or something.
